How to write blog post titles while keeping SEO in mind

How many times do you happen upon a post written by a fellow blogger whose title makes you wonder what the post will actually end up being about? Note that many times that you do run across these posts, they do not have a high PageRank or get very much traffic unless they have been Dugg, etc. And even if they do, could they get more traffic if their post title was optimized?

When I first starting writing for my blog in March of this year, I didn’t even know what the term SEO meant and hence wrote post titles that would make a seasoned blogger cringe! Even though I have read it over 100 thousand times, it seems that a lot of bloggers out there still don’t understand how important it is to write a good title for each post.

And what’s more baffling is that everyone intrinsically knows how important titles are because each person reads a newspaper on a daily basis. For example, if you were to whip open the New York Times web site right now, the top headline is as follows:

New Stem Cell Method Could Ease Ethical Concerns
Now that title makes sense! It’s also very search engine friendly since it’s short, yet has enough keywords that it would show up in a long tail search. Now consider what you would think if you were to read the following headline:

“Medical Ethics”

If that were the title for the above article, do you think it would be as easily searchable through Google as the first title? HELL NO. And you may read this and laugh and say that “Awww come on man, that’s retarded, that title is not even close to being a short form of the original title, it’s not close at all!” Well I would agree with you, but that’s a major problem with many blog post titles, they have nothing to do with the content!
As a technology blogger myself, I find this issue to be even worse among our niche because most bloggers are writing about software, computers, technology, and other items whose names don’t have anything to do with their ultimate purpose.

For example, here’s a couple of blog posts that I feel are really bad post titles because they lack keywords, do not describe anything, and are just plain useless to the search engines.

Bad Post Titles

Unlocker for Windows” – This blogger is writing about a piece of software that you can use in Windows to get past errors like “Access is Denied” when trying to delete or move files. Does anyone search on Google for UNLOCKER FOR WINDOWS? Of course not, someone is searching for “cannot move file” and “access is denied”. A better title for this would be “How to unlock a process for access is denied errors in Windows” or something similar.

“iConcertCal”This article was Dugg, but still who is ever going to find this product with this kind of title? The software monitors your iTunes library and lets you find concerts in your local area. A good title would be “iConcertCal – Find local concerts in your city via your iTunes libarary”.  At least write something!

HeatEatReview” – This is a great site that reviews all kinds of frozen dinners, etc so that you can buy the best stuff from the store. But who the hell is going to search HeatEatReview! Even some simple text after the name of the site will be much better.

Joox.net – Can you guess what this site is all about? No idea? Well obviously since Joox is not even a word! This site allows you to watch some old and new movies in DivX quality. Would it not be better to write something like “Joox.net – Watch Hollywood DivX movies online for free”???
So what is considered a good title? Well, you’ve probably seen most of those already, but I thought I would mention a few anyway.

Good Post Titles

Stage6 – Upload video clips, share, watch, download videos” – This site is similar to the Joox.net site mentioned above, but look at how much more descriptive the title is. It has all the keywords that it wants to rank on included in the title. No one knows what Stage6 means and nor do the search engines!

Photojojo – The best photo tips, DIY projects, and gear in the whole wide world’Can anyone possibly be confused by what this site is all about? Not even a search engine! Good keywords and pretty straight forward.

“Dealing With Website Plagiarism: When Someone Copies Your Blog Content”If someone were to steal your blog content, what would you search for first? Probably something like “blog plagiarism” or “blog content stolen”, etc. This article will probably show up higher since the keywords will match in the title.

Conclusion

So when writing post titles, always try to think from a searchers perspective and what they would type in if they were looking for this product or service. Yes, backlinks and the content of the post matter a lot and I’m not denying that, I’m just saying that if ALL OTHER FACTORS WERE EQUAL, the post with the better title would win out.

Also, I’ve noticed that if someone is not paying attention to writing correct post titles, they are probably also missing important keywords in the body of the content. If you’re not sure what keywords to use, check out keywords tools such as Google’s Adwords tool or Keyword Discovery.

50 Self-Reflecting Questions To Ask Yourself As A Blogger

This is something I have been wanting to write up for a while without it sounding too cliché. This is not a post full of questions to ask yourself before starting a new blog, but a post to reflect on your current blogging habits.

What I want you to do is just go through this post and read all the questions either out loud or in your head.

Then, simply answer them. Now, I am not asking you to share these answers with anyone else if you don’t want to. I’m not even asking you to share your answers, period. What I am asking you to do is be as honest as possible in all of your answers. Don’t answer questions like #13 with a lie, because then you will be missing the whole point of this post.

I want you to really reflect on the kind of blogger you are, and lying won’t help you do that. The reason for this is because some of the questions I came up with will really cause you to think about your actions and motivations as a blogger. With those thoughts in your mind, it can really help you make the changes needed to become a better blogger.

If you have any questions, or need clarification, just comment. I respond to all comments, so I will be more than happy to explain anything left unclear. :)

  41. Do you make the title of my posts clear so the reader understands what the article is about before jumping to the content?
  42. What do you think when a post you put less effort into gets a bigger response than a post you put more effort into?
  43. Does it bother you to see someone younger than you have a more successful blog?
  44. Are you afraid to make an investment in something that could help your blog substantially because you’re afraid it won’t work?
  45. Do you add a fresh perspective to a subject, or just regurgitate it?
  46. Do you tend to cut out some information that could be useful to some people because you don’t want your post to be “too long“?
  47. Look at your blog articles. What is the ratio of pillar articles to regular articles?
  48. Have you kept up with posting consistently over the last month? If not, why?
  49. Are your blog posts full of information that will remain relevant over a long period or time, or for a shorter period of time?
  50. Are you afraid to ask questions to your readers that you don’t know the answer to?

No More Questions!

I know there were a lot of questions, and I hope you didn’t feel overwhelmed. Hopefully this post has helped you figure out and come to terms with the kind of blogger you are. Let me know what you thought of this post. These questions weren’t the easiest things to come up with as I wanted to go a little deeper than most bloggers would.

45 Link Building Tips To Help You Promote Your Blog

In an ever changing approach by bloggers to keep up with the Google SERP algorithms, many of us get carried away with our “SEO Techniques.” It’s not a surprise nor a shame, because without this experimentation, we are bound to hit a plateau in progress.

Unquestionably, even here at Blogussion – we try many new things, in combination with the old to help build on the traffic from search engines. Whether it be validating the site using the W3C Markup or just typing a new category-description, Search Engine Optimization is a never-ending process that evolves on a regular basis and it is our duty to keep up with it.

However, in trying new things – we shouldn’t forget that some techniques will never die out and must be practiced as regularly as possible. I would just like to outline 45 tips that will help you build quality back-links to your site, with minimal to no costs!

Quality back-links serve two main purposes. Firstly, it helps crawlers find and locate your site. Once this is accomplished, the search engine crawler goes about indexing your site. The next purpose; back-links help crawlers identify how important your blog really is.

The first purpose obviously only applies to new blogs, but the second one will still be valid even 10 years down the track. These back-links also help the Google Crawler to assign your pages with a Google PageRank. Simply to put, the more authoritative websites that are linked to your site, the more important it is perceived to be.

List of 45. Starts Here.

Getting Links for Writing Content

1. Write content that is useful – Writing resourceful content will always attract links, hands down. If you write an article that is overflowing with useful and resourceful information – people will link to it.

2. Don’t forget trackbacks – This handy feature for WordPress can be great way of returning the compliment for a dedicated link.

3. Remind your readers to link to you – After each posts, just throw in a quick reminder that your article can be socially bookmarked or linked to.

4. Make a Top “X” List – Alex’s post on “100 Lists To Become A Better Blogger” is the most successful post on Blogussion, to-date. This just goes to prove how much people love “lists posts” such as your “Top X [Something]”

5. Debunk a Myth – There’s only one thing better than coming up with an idea, is to prove someone else one wrong. People love opposition and to see a debate bubble up, so don’t be afraid to challenge other people’s opinions.

6. Write with a touch of conspiracy – Just reinforcing tip #5. If you can create that atmosphere of retaliation, it will always raise a few eyebrows.

7. Spread the Love – Dedicate a post or two per week to link to other blogger’s posts that you found useful. More often than not, they will tell their readers “Mr.X linked to my post, how cool!”

8. Trade articles with webmasters – Similar to guest posting, just swap articles with a fellow webmaster.

9. Release a Press Release – This guide shows you how to write + submit a good Press Release.

Freebies/Giveaways for Link-Baiting

10. Hold a contest with an incentive. Contests are great for link-baiting because when people talk about it, there will always be “Check it out here” tagged along with it.

11. Release a free design. If you can make/buy a custom WP-Theme then release it for free to your guests, you can really kick off on a viral market. Just don’t forget the “Designed by [YOUR LINK]”

12. Release a free plugin. This serves a similar purpose as a design, but not so much with a direct back-link. Instead, if your plugin is useful, the incoming links will just grow exponentially.

13. When running a contest, reward your referees that bring the most referrals. This will encourage them to blog about your contest.

Connecting With Communities

14. Become active and post on relevant forums

15. Become active and comment on relevant blogs.

16. Try not to forget your signature on forums, otherwise the whole thing is an epic fail.

17. When commenting on blogs, try to use post URLs instead of just your Blog URL – This can help regulate your links evenly amongst your blog, and not just solely to your front page.

18. DON’T spam communities with your links to your site, offer a reason for them to visit and contribute with a purpose.

19. Submit your blog to directories – These are still helpful when it comes to getting indexed, especially these directories listed here.

20. Search up DoFollow Blogs/Forums – These will carry the most significant back-links.

21. Browse Craigslists and they can provide you with a free or cheap link.

22. Build on your Technorati Profile

23. Become a Sponsor – Whether it be a theme, whole website or a small project; the sponsors always get mentioned.

24. Run for Charity, and request others to help spread the word.

25. DON’T spam. This tip cannot be reinforced enough. A deleted comment will server no purpose.

Directories, Social Bookmarking + Discussion Groups.

26. Write content for Article directories – Publish content for directories such as eZineArticles, GoArticles or iSnare. In the “About Author’s” area, you can leave a link to your website.

27. Build a Squidoo Page – It’s easy and if you have the time to develop it, it can be very authoritative. If you don’t there’s heaps of services out there to help you out.

28. Join Discussions over at Yahoo! Answers – Providing useful answers, along with a link is an easy way to earn a back-link.

29. There’s also Google Groups – It’s almost the same as Yahoo! Answers, but owned by Google.

30. Submit your voice on Digg – First build a solid profile, where you have a network of loyal diggers. If you can hit the Digg front page, you are likely to get linked to by a lot of web-masters.

31. Build on your Twitter profile then link to your site using your “Bio Area.”

32. Tweet about your posts using Twitter, then request retweets from your followers.

33. Offer a “Tweet This Post” link on every post your write, this will make Tweeters easier to tweet about your article.

Direct Link Building

34. Contact your fellow bloggers with a personalized email – asking for an reciprocal link exchange. However, keep this to a minimal and be very selective in who you choose to trade with.

35. Post around on forums asking for reciprocal link exchanges, but yet again be warned on your selection.

36. If you are a part of organizations, clubs or schools – Ask them if they can link to you, because these types of websites are more often than not; authoritative.

37. DON’T ask Darren Rowse, ShoeMoney, Matt Cutts or Yahoo, MSN and Google for back-links. It’s just a waste of time, especially the last three “contacts”

Paid Link Building

38. Buy a Review – Most sites that offer reviews will naturally link to the reviewed product/site.

39. Many webmasters buy links on popular blogs for authority, even though it’s against the Google TOS (Use at your own risk)

40. Rent links from others website – Text-Link-Ads is most likely your best option.

Improve WordPress SEO Optimization

Search Engines love blogs and they really love WordPress blogs. That’s because it was designed to catch their attention through good SEO. I want you to understand what WordPress does so well that helps it rank highly in search engines and then I am going to show you how to improve on this to really help boost your blogs SERPs rankings.

I am assuming you have basic knowledge of SEO and its techniques, if you don’t, I suggest you check out Stomping The Search Engines 2 by the folks over at StomperNet for an excllent SEO education. It will teach you everything you need to know, to create and implement a good SEO strategy for your blog and help you increase traffic as a result. Best of all you can get it for $1, Click Here to Get Your Copy.

WordPress Comes With Many SEO Friendly Features Right Out the Box
  1. The overall layout of the code is generally very SEO friendly, because it allows the spiders to crawl the content of a page before crawling the side bar. This allows the most important part of the page to be crawled first, thus given it more weight. Since your target keywords are in the content, it is more likely that your page will rank better for those keywords.
  2.  When a new post is created, WordPress automatically sets the link to the post as the title of the post. Because the two most important on page SEO Factors are page title and link anchor text, it by default will boost your post’s search engine rankings, as long as you include your target keywords in the title.
  3. WordPress comes with SEO friendly URLs called permalinks, which can be turned on in the WordPress settings. These permalinks can be customized to include your main keywords which helps to raise your rankings by having the keyword in the URL.
  4. Tag pages allow you to group content by relevant tags, which gives your site more internal linking power through the creation of new pages and also allows you to create relevant pages around targeted keywords. Hopefully driving in more traffic and long tail keyword traffic.
So What Can Be Done To Improve This Already Good Search Engine Optimization Strategy
There are some very easy modifications you can make that will really help your blogs SEO friendliness.

Make sure your Home link does not just say “Home”
Studies have shown that Google puts the highest amount of importance to the first link it finds on a page. For most WordPress themes, that is the “Home” link. Basic SEO theory tells us that the anchor text of your internal links is very important. So if you want your blog to rank for say “Gardening” you would want the home link for your site to say “Gardening” or at the very least include the keyword in the anchor text to your home page.

Some themes have this feature built in already by using the header text as the home link, but in more advance themes that use a logo in place of the header, this functionality is lost or becomes less effective. Many theme designers try and alleviate the problem is through the use of the image Alt=” ” tag. This allows you to add a description to the image, it is unclear if this help with SEO or not, but it is a good idea to have it in place just in case.

Another way to solve this problem is by placing a row of your most important links above the header so that the search engines will spider those first before moving do the page, and you can include a “Home” link with what ever anchor text you want.

Make Sure The Pages You Don’t Want Indexed, Don’t get Indexed

Do you have an “About Us” or “Contact Us” page that you really don’t need stealing PR from your other content pages. The best way to do this is by using the rel=”nofollow” tag for those links to the pages.
Due to the dynamic nature of WordPress this can be a little tricky, because you may not want all of your pages to not be indexed, adding the “nofollow” tag to the dynamic URL in the code just won’t do.
You can use the META Robots (no-index, no-archive, ect) tag however to accomplish the same goal.
Fortunately, there is a plugin that allows you to customize the META setting for individual pages, categories, and even posts, it’s called HeadSpace2. It is a bit more advanced then the All In One SEO plug in that everyone recommends and takes a little bit to get use to, but it’s worth the effort, because you get much more control over your sites SEO structure.

Make Sure You Include Your Target Keywords in the Category and Tag Pages Navigation Links

This can be a bit tricky because you want your sites navigation to be human friendly first and spider friendly as well.  The best way to do this is to not go overboard with keyword stuffing, make sure your make navigation easy to understand by humans first and use your keywords only where it makes sense to do so.
If you use the HeadSpace2 plug in you can set the category description and the title of the category pages. So you can have a category called “Men’s Fitness” and set the title of the page to optimize for the longer tail phrase “Ways for a Man to Improve Fitness” for example.
This allows you to keep your navigation short and simple and keep your category pages titles descriptive and help your target the long tail as well.

Make Sure Your Ads are “NoFollow”
Ads are a common place where people forget to make the links “nofollow”. If you have a theme with ad space built in, check the code and make sure the links all have the rel=”nofollow” tag. Other wise you will lose a lot of “link juice” over your entire site.
If you use an external plug in do the same thing, and make sure all external links are nofollow.
These simple modifications will help to improve your sites internal link structure, preserve its Page Rank by keeping the followed external links to only the pages that you deem worthy, and keep the PR spread across only the most important pages of your blog.
If you implement these WordPress SEO Strategies, you will greatly increase your blogs chances of being ranked  highly in the search engines for your target keywords and you should see an increase in traffic as a result.

Are Comment Backlinks Worth The Time?

Comment backlinks are backlinks usually created on blogs, but of course they can be created on any site that allows comments. One would have to search the Internet for their topic, find a blog with relevant content to their site and then write a comment and place a link back to their website.

Does this really work?
This type of backlink building does work, if you are willing to spend the time to find quality blogs with relevant content, plus put the extra effort into writing a decent comment so it will get approved. There are some blogs that will allow any comment, but most will have to be approved. When writing a comment just think to yourself, if this was my blog would I approve this.

How do you get a comment approved?
When you write the comment, just make sure it has something to do with the blog post. If the blog post is about vitamins, then write something about taking or buying vitamins. If you own a vitamin company, instead of saying, check out our vitamin website… say something like, does it really matter which vitamin company I use? How does this company compare to GNC?
If you mention another company and ask advice, you have a better chance than just placing a link to your own website. One thing to keep in mind is the amount of people that actually read the comment is going to be slim to none (for most blogs), so it’s more important to get the backlink published than to worry about promoting your own company.
I do not recommend writing a comment that just says, “great blog – go to my site”. The extra effort should get your comment approved and your backlink indexed in the search engines.

Does the page rank of the blog matter?
Yes, it does to an extent. One thing to keep in mind in any SEO process is the fact that you have to make sure your SEO marketing is done in a way that looks natural. If you only get backlinks from page rank 5+ blogs, does that seem natural? Not really. A couple backlinks here and there wont matter, but if you are building hundreds of backlinks this way, you should create some on lower page rank blogs as well.

What is NoFollow?
A NoFollow tag means that you will not get credit for a backlink on that page. You do want to target blogs that have a DoFollow tag so you do get credit. The problem that could arise, as mentioned above, is it natural to only have backlinks from DoFollow blogs? You are in the same boat here, it is wise to spread out the backlink building process to all types of sites.

Will Google really penalize me?
Yes, Google will drop the hammer once they feel you are spamming or doing any type of SEO that doesn’t fit their algorithm. What does this mean exactly? Here is an example. If you want to build backlinks via blog comments (or any type of process) Google has an algorithm in place that looks for spam. So if your website has backlinks from known link farms or if your website has a lot of backlinks that were created in a very short amount of time (this is done with automated software), they will automatically penalize you. 99% of the time there is nothing you can do about it.

What happens if I get penalized?
There are multiple ways to get pushed around by Google. If you go outside their white lines just a little bit, you may lose your search engine rankings for a day or so. If you push the envelope a little more, they might push down your rankings from maybe a page 1 to page 10. If you really piss them off, then your website can disappear off of Google. If this happens, you will probably never recover.
Bottom line is, most people do not know how far you can push the envelope, nor do they even know there is an envelope to push. There are many companies, consultants, off-shore firms that will contact you and say they will build tons of backlinks for you and your site will shoot to the top of the search engines.
You have to be very careful of this because most companies do not perform the SEO marketing correctly. You might even get great results in the first 30 days and be jumping up with joy. The problem is, if your SEO is built wrong, it could take 6 months for Google to realize and penalize you then. It doesn’t normally happen right away.

Happy Backlink Building!!!

17 Effective Search Engine Optimization Techniques

Proper ways to perform SEO has become a popular topic of conversation. The difference between having a successful website and a flop usually depends on how you incorporated your SEO.

Learning proper SEO techniques can seem like a daunting task, especially to those who are not familiar with the concept. The biggest problem is SEO changes as the search engines change their algorithms, so it is something that you have to stay on top of.

The following list offers 10 simple SEO techniques you should keep in mind when developing and marketing your website.

1. Make sure your website is initially designed with your SEO needs in mind. Search engines look for text, not flashy graphics and cool layouts. The trendiest web designs will mean nothing if no one is able to find your site.

2. Every page of your website should have a title tag with text describing either your site or what is on the page. Be sure the text includes SEO-type keywords instead of the name of your website. Unless you’re incredibly popular, no one is going to be looking for you by searching for your name. They’ll most likely search for a product or service and the keywords you use will lead them to your site.

3. Consider canonicalization, or whether or not your website address includes or excludes the www prefix. If you choose to use the www version of your website, make sure the non-www version directs users back to the one you use. Make sure you use your preferred version (http://www.mydomain.com or http://mydomain.com) every time you place a link to your site on the web. Don’t use both!

4. When designing your website, be sure to avoid too many drop-down menus, confusing image maps, and excessive images. If you must use any of these methods, be sure to include plenty of text links for the search engine spiders to find and identify. Without links, the search engines will not pick up your site information.

5. It does not matter what type of website extension you use (ie. .html, .htm. .asp, .php). Search engines do not look at the web extension and it will not have any impact at all on search results or ranking.

6. Every page on your website should include a link to your home page and your sitemap. Make sure every link is the same. Home page links should go directly to your domain (http://www.mydomain.com). Make sure your internal links do not include the additional /index.html or .php text as it is not needed (ie. http://www.mydomain.com/index.html).

7. You’ll hear the same phrase over and over again: “Content is king”. It is imperative that your website have fresh, unique, and quality content that is updated on a regular basis. Be sure to include your favorite keyword phrase within the body of the content!

8. People are more likely to input a phrase instead of a single word when conducting internet searches. If your business has a physical location, incorporate the name of your city into the text as well. For example, you might use “our Philadelphia location” instead of “our location”. Including your city name will improve the chances of your site being seen in location searches.

9. If the information on your company website doesn’t change regularly, or remains static, you might want to consider starting a blog. Search engine spiders are always looking for fresh content. Use your blog as an advertising tool and link back to your website within each and every post.

10. Write naturally. The worst thing you can do is try to cram a zillion keywords into your article or blog entry, making it messy and difficult to read. Search engines are able to determine whether or not your text is logical and they will ignore content with ridiculously high keyword density.

11. Building links to your website is essential to its success. As a matter of fact, links are like the queen to complement your king’s fresh content. Choose a keyword phrase and network with other websites, asking them to place links on their pages. Don’t hurt your ranking by having non-related websites place haphazard links. While it may seem great to gather 100s of backlinks, you’re better off limiting your links to related websites. Ten relevant links stand a better chance than 100 irrelevant links.

12. Links within your website should be built with keyword phrases as well. Try to avoid using generic anchor text such as, “click here”. Also, do not use the same anchor text over and over when building any links, you will get penalized by the search engines.

13. Don’t place a list of links on your website. Always place a link within at least two to three lines of related content. The better your description, the more likely it is someone will click on the link.

14. Don’t limit your keyword or phrase to text links. You should also incorporate your keywords into your image alt tag and domain name, whether it is part of the name itself or contained within the description.

15. Try to avoid using frames, Ajax, and Flash as much as possible. None of these functions are keyword or search engine friendly and will hurt your SEO results.

16. Before your website can be found by the search engine spiders, it must be indexed. Search engines such as Google have regular submission forms, but it can take days or weeks for your form to be processed. Having a highly ranked website place a link to your site is a sure-fire way to have your site indexed quickly.

17. No matter what you hear, don’t be overly concerned with the Google PageRank of your website. A website that is properly developed and contains good content can outrank a website with higher PageRank.

5 Things To Consider While Analyzing Your Competitors

You cannot make your competitors disappear. Yet, you can fight potential customers from them by analyzing their websites and taking relevant actions. Whether you analyze your competitors manually or with a competitive analysis tool, you should consider the following data:
  1. First of all, pay attention to the Page Rank. It is obvious that you have to look it up. Google ranks websites relying on their PR, as well as some other factors, of course. Therefore, competitor’s PR is one of the most crucial details you must consider while analyzing your niche competition.
To check the PR of any website, either install Google Taskbar (it’s free and easily downloaded from the official site) or use any competitive analysis tool available in the Internet.
  2. Second the most important thing in analyzing your competitors is a number of their backward links. And it is widely known, the more backward links you have, the higher position you get in SERP.
  3. You shouldn’t forget about analyzing competitors’ backward links quality either. If the backward links are from authoritative websites with high PR, you should make great efforts to beat your competitors.
  4. Never forget to check whether the needed keywords are present in the URLs and meta titles of your competitors’ sites. What is important for Google must be important for you as well.
  5. Analyze competitor’s traffic details to identify his marketing strategies. There are several ways of gathering traffic approximations that your competitors get:
    • Alexa, Compete, or Netcraft are free and can be used both by amateur or professional webmaster.
    • Hitwise and ComScore are paid services and provide more comprehensive traffic information.
It is important to keep tabs of what your competitors are doing, but do not dwell too much on their traffic: think more on what you are doing with yours.
Tip: There are many ways how to gather the data mentioned above, the only rule of thumb is to do it in the most cost and time effective way. Using Text Link Ads for making money online

Text Link Ads is the targeted traffic and link popularity ads firm located in NY. I have been working with TLA for more than a year now and have so far earned thousands of dollars from its link popularity program.
Text Link Ads are really helpful for the site owners who are willing to gain top rankings in search engines as they offer static link and that also on the choice of your sites.
Use for Advertiser
TLA is a great market place for the advertisers who are willing to purchase some quality and targeted links for their website. Advertisers find it really easy to buy links from here because their whole process is really simple.
This service displays its publisher’s sites by categories and orders them with their Alexa Rankings, their link popularity and their monthly prices. As an advertiser, you have to choose the targeted category and chose a website for purchasing link according to your budget and requirements. Once you have found the website where you want to advertise, click on ‘Buy’ check box and click ‘Add to cart’.
If you are new here and want to try Text link ads, then you can get $100 in free links.
Use for publishers
As a publisher, You can make money with text link ads from your website by selling link space on your website for a week or month. You can sell its link side wide or even for individual pages and also can decide how many of its ads you are actually willing to sell. You also have the option whether to accept or reject a particular link offer that is being made to you.
As a publisher, you can use Text link Ads Calculator to know the value of a link for a website which depends upon where you are going to place it and also whether you are offering the link side wide or single page. You will be able to make maximum with your link ads when you place them in your left sidebar and the link value decreases when you move towards the right on your website or blog.
As a publisher, you can make more money with it by referring other publishers and Advertisers to it. You will be paid $25 when you refer a member who sign up on Text Link ads and add the TLA script on his script on his/her website for seven days. You will also be paid when you refer an advertiser on here.
Which Sites are accepted
There are many factors like Google Page Rank, Alexa Ranking, RSS subscribers that plays an important role when it comes about submitting your website on Text Link Ads. You have greater chances of being accepted here if your site has Good page rank as well as Alexa. Don’t try to submit a fresh new website or a site that has Page rank less than 3 as in that case your site will mostly be rejected there. According to me, your site has greatest chance of being accepted here if its page rank is greater than or equal to 4 and has good Alexa rankings as well.
Payment System

There are many payment options that TLA is offering to the publishers. As a publisher, you can accept your payment via Check, Paypal or Payoneer. I have so far used its check and paypal paying methods. But my choice is paypal which is a convenient and fast method for accepting and sending money.
So Try TLA
As I have told you, I have been able to make thousands of dollars from TLA within a year time. I know many publishers who have even been able to make more than thousand dollars from TLA every month. For many publishers, text link ads in one of the main source of income. I even noticed while checking the earning stats for some of marketing experts sites, they have been able to make more with Text link ads than Google adsense i.e. their TLA earnings have been much higher than what they made with Google Adsense in a month.
So there is nothing wrong in trying Text link ads.
